The RECAP Preterm data schema is used to classify cohort variables within the data platform. This allows users to search for variables based on the topic of interest and also facilitates organisation of variables for harmonisation. The full schema can be downloaded as a .xlsx file [RECAPSchemav4.4.xlsx](uploads/22eb199f5900cd41be7157c97c72408b/RECAPSchemav4.4.xlsx).
## Main Schema
The main RECAP data schema allows researchers to organise and search for variables based on the topic of interest. This schema is made up of 14 modules.
[Administrative Information & Identifiers](Administrative Information & Identifiers)\
[Antenatal & Birth](Antenatal & Birth)\
[Biomarkers & Laboratory Analyses](Biomarkers & Laboratory Analyses)\
[Education & Learning](Education & Learning)\
[Healthcare Utilisation](Healthcare Utilisation)\

[Mental Health](Mental Health)\
[Mortality and End of Life](Mortality and End of Life)\
[Neonatal Care](Neonatal Care)\
[Neurodevelopment](Neurodevelopment)\
[Organisation Level Information](Organisation Level Information)\
[Physical Health](Physical Health)\
[Social, Lifestyle & Leisure](Social, Lifestyle & Leisure)\
[Socioeconomic & Demographic](Socioeconomic & Demographic)
## Instrument Schema
Standardised instruments and other commonly used data collection tools have been organised within the RECAP Instrument Schema. Implementation of this schema within the RECAP data platform allows researchers to search by the instrument of interest and select appropriate variables collected using the instrument.

[Health Behaviours](Instruments#health-behaviours)\
[Mental Health](Instruments#mental-health)\
[Neurodevelopment](Instruments#neurodevelopment)\
[Quality of Life](Instruments#quality-of-life)\
[Social](Instruments#social)
## Target, Source, and Mode
Target Source and Mode Schema allows researchers to classify variables according to the target of the variable (who/what the information is about), source (who/what provided the information), and mode (the mode of data collection).
